Global Correspondent

Based in Monash Prato study centre in northern Italy the course Global Correspondent introduces the student to journalistic storytelling in an international setting. Besides from story telling techniques this course covers a number of topics, clearly present and well represented in Italian and European society.

The course is given as a cooperation between University of Gothenburg and Monash University, Melbourne and offers a two-week intensive learning experience between Swedish and Australian students. The two weeks (10-21 july) that are given in Italy includes lectures and workshops and are capped by a two day fieldwork trip to the heart of the European Union – Brussels. Thereafter the course is examined in Gothenburgwith an individual three week  thesis project. During those three weeks there are no lectures.

Costs

The costs for the trip to Prato is covered by the student. Monash Prato Study Centre does not offer any student housing but we have made reservations at a very reasonable price at a hotel for our participating students, the cost for this will be approximately 3000:-/person for eleven nights (shared rooms). The course is finished by a field trip to Brussels for the whole group, the cost for travel + hotel will be about 2500 (less if you share a double room at the hotel).

You then arrange your own trip back to Sweden from Brussels.
