Global Correspondent - Summer Course in Italy

The Summer Course Global Correspondent is for you who like to learn more about journalistic and digital storytelling in an international environment.

In our summer course Global correspondent you can during two weeks in Italy immerse in basic storytelling techniques and try different media platforms together with students from Sweden and Australia. 

You will learn more about international coverage and reporting of a number of current subjects and societal issues, for example migration.

The course is based in Monash Prato study centre outside Florens and is given as a cooperation between University of Gothenburg and Monash University, Melbourne.

The two weeks in Italy (june 25th - july 6th)  includes lectures and workshops and are capped by a two day fieldwork trip to the heart of the European Union – Brussels.

The course is started off in Sweden with a three week individual thesis project. During those three weeks there is no campus based teaching but there will be an introduction meeting in the beginning of June.

The course is open for all students who have taken 30 credits in subject within the social sciences.

The costs for the trip to Prato as well as housing is covered by the student. Monash Prato Study Centre offers student housing at a cost of 25 euro/night in single rooms. The residence has communal kitchen, laundry rooms and bath rooms. http://www.magnolfinuovoprato.it/en/ostello/ostello

The course is finished by a field trip to Strasbourg for the whole group, the cost for travel + hotel will be about 2500 (less if you share a double room at the hotel).

You then arrange your own trip back to Sweden from Strasbourg.
