Media perception of the media audience


This project explores how the media audience was perceived within the media sector from 1910 to the 1970s. This is done by studying the journals of the Swedish Union of Journalists (SJF) and the Swedish Media Publishers’ Organisation (TU) – Journalisten and Pressens Tidning respectively – over time. Knowing how the media audience has been perceived in the past will make it easier to understand the perception of the media audience expressed by journalists today.
