Newspaper Research Programme


The Newspaper Research Programme has conducted research on media use with a focus on the daily press and its audience since 1979.

The basis of the project is to follow developments over time. Yearly studies have been conducted since the beginning of the project, and the results have been very useful to both researchers and the industry in general. The longitudinal audience studies are also utilised to answer two other important questions:

  • What factors affect people’s media consumption?

  • How and to what extent do other media influence people’s consumption of newspapers?
